Winter Garden could soon become home to a 90-room Hampton Inn, with a Tampa-based developer buying a 5.8-acre church site and seeking approvals for the lodging as well as 60,000 square feet of medical space that would include a new surgical center.
GNP Development and Orange Grove Holdings purchased the property from the Church Of God Of Prophecy Winter Garden for about $1.5 million, records show. If developers win approvals from the city of Winter Garden, GNP would provide the development pads and construction could be completed as soon as late 2019.
Pending approvals, GNP Development Partner Mark Gerenger said Hampton Inn plans a four-story hotel at the site, which is at 855-955 S. Dillard, Winter Garden. Also at the site, GNP will partner with Surgical Development Partners on a new 20,000 square foot surgical center.
Bravo Engineering LLC is the engineer.
The project comes as Florida Hospital adds a seven-story inpatient tower and three-story medical office building at Florida Hospital Winter Garden, turning the existing free-standing emergency department to a full-service hospital.
And Orlando Health has moved forward with “health pavilions” around its free-standing ERs in the Dr. Phillips area and on Winter Garden Vineland Road. The medical operator has added services such as imaging, physician office buildings or what’s in demand for the area’s population
GNP is also underway on Celebration projects including a surgical center and self storage facility with 80,000 square feet and three stories facing Interstate 4.
